Born and raised in Minnesota, Dave got his start at Bemidji State University where he graduated with a Communications Degree and was featured on the campus station, KBSB.  He then moseyed across town where he began work at our sister stations at Paul Bunyan Broadcasting where he worked his way into afternoon drive on KB101!  He can also be heard on KZY in Bemidji fluxing his capacitor during tours to yesteryear and now is our midday man here at Cool 103.5 in Brainerd.

Dave also spends some time helping the Lakeland Television team with their nightly newscasts behind, and occasionally in front of the camera picking up a spatula or forecast incoming weather fronts from time to time.

Mr. Brooks recently married the most lovely gal who, despite her small stature, terrifies him!  They welcomed their own little tiny bundle in the summer of 2016 and are still learning how to cope with their Big Chunk-O-Cute!  Dave is a community asset in both Bemidji and the Brainerd Lakes Area. Dave is the predominant emcee of the Crosslake Wood Boat Show in the summer. He invested his time with the Bemidji Jaycees, officiating roller derby and mentoring in Student’s First. Dave’s no stranger to life on the lakes. You may see him in the summers cruising on the Whitefish chain. He loves his sports, Halloween and keeping a ninja death-grip on his inner kid.  Honestly, we now KNOW there is something wrong with him.
