The Wadena Fire Department is on the scene of a large fire this Memorial Day afternoon. The fire appeasrs to involve Valley Irrigation on the east side of the city, according to Facebook activity.  The fire contains hazardous materials and the smoke may be harmful, so they have issued a “Shelter In Place” alert for the residence in the city.

This is an active fire so people are urged to stay away and out of the way. We will update this story as needed.
