It’s time, once again, for the annual Coats for Kids Drive in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
Kinship Partners, Crystal Cleaners, the Westgate Mall and Hubbard Radio Brainerd (WJJY) are asking lakes area residents to donate new or gently used coats to the 2022 Coats for Kids Drive. We are asking that you drop off your donations at Crystal Cleaners in Brainerd so the fine folks there can get them cleaned and ready for distribution on October 15th. Please, if your items are used, make sure they in good working-order – and are not ripped/torn, the zippers are working and the pockets are clean and not torn.
We are also looking for other winterwear items :
- Snow Pants
- Any winter wear – and ANY SIZE…from really little sizes up to adult sizes (coats, too!)
In addition to Crystal Cleaners, other area groups and businesses are collecting coats for this drive. You can also drop your Coats for Kids donations off at:
- Live Well Chiropractic – 318 West Laurel Street in Brainerd
- First Lutheran Church – 424 S. 8 St. in Brainerd
- Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union – 30563 Patriot Ave. in Pequot Lakes
- Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union – 117 W. Main St. in Crosby
If you have not had a chance to make you donations, please do before 5:00 p.m. on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30th so Crystal Cleaners has time to get them ready for distribution.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED!!! Coats for Kids is HUGE undertaking and we could use your help! If you would like to volunteer, please sign up online through a link at KinshipPartners.org. We need help sorting through the coats, organizing the retail space, people to help shoppers the day of the distribution and help with clean-up afterward. Please help if you can!
The distribution date will be Saturday, October 15th from 9:00 to 3:00 at the Westgate Mall in the old Jenny’s Hallmark Store location (next to Dunham’s). One coat per child. Please bring the child needing the coat with you so they can try it on and have fun shopping!
